Soundscape: “Girls”- Deep Sea Arcade
Not sure what’s in the water in Australia, but every band I’ve come across seems to hail from this great country. Enter indie rockers, Deep Sea Arcade with their debut record, Outlands. Even sitting down I can’t seem to stop moving to every track on this album and singing along to Nic McKenzie’s melodic vocals. It’s a well known fact I am a sucker for surf pop, but these guys bring more than just a good summer, beachy track to the table. It’s an infectious blend of a retro, british, psychedelic sound, one that creates a feeling where I can’t help decide to dance to it in London or California. For now, I will be dancing (and arranging my treasures) in Chicago. But just for now.
